The stage is set for the election into the next administrative cycle of the Nigeria Football Federation as the board led by Amaju Pinnick has been dissolved.
The host governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Masari of Katsina State has delivered his speech which was largely a goodwill message to the delegates, urging them to play fairly.
He has since left and the election is about to start. The General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, who is the presiding officer is expected to announce the order of the election.
This follows the normal administrative procedure leading into the election. Incidentally, it was Pinnick himself that raised the motion for the dissolution. This was seconded by delegates from Abia and Anambra states.
Before then, there had been the accreditation of the delegates followed by headcount. All the 36 states were represented. All the delegates are also in the hall.
This was confirmed by the General Secretary, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed. Election to begin any moment from now. The order of the election will be in a hierarchical sequence. The president first, followed by the 1st vice president, chairman of chairmen and other zones.
The police are on the ground to maintain law and order as all listed candidates are doing last-minute campaign to get votes.
